Who do you work with?
Businesses and organizations. We work business to business: engagements are scoped, quoted and contracted.
We work business to business, under contract, on software, security and agentic AI.
We are engineers focused on three practices: software, security and agentic AI. The work is the argument: shipped systems, audit reports and automations running in production.
When a request falls outside those three, we say no and point you somewhere better.
NorthStar is also a builder of products: units created, directed and operated by us under one legal roof.
NorthStar is a startup and an engineering house. Paid engagements fund the road; the products and units we build for our own account compound it. We are not an incubator and not an investment fund: what carries the NorthStar name is created and directed by us.
The ambition is a category defining company. The method is disciplined delivery, written scopes and a long horizon.
A short discovery call, then a written scope with deliverables, timeline and a fixed quote.
Work starts under a signed agreement, covered by our Terms and, per project, a statement of work.
Weekly delivery with direct access to the engineers. Decisions and progress are written down where you can see them.
Documentation, credentials and a walkthrough. Maintenance is optional and quoted separately.
We work with mainstream, well-supported stacks and keep systems portable: no lock-in and no undocumented dependencies. Boring technology that lasts is usually the right answer.
Every deliverable ships with its code, configuration and documentation in a state the next engineer can pick up without a handover meeting with us.
The current focus is three practices: software engineering, cybersecurity and agentic AI. As the company grows, we plan to extend into data science and applied mathematics.
We prefer to publish work when it is done, not when it is promised.
In parallel we are building an academy, contributing to open source and publishing tools for production grade agentic AI.
Businesses and organizations. We work business to business: engagements are scoped, quoted and contracted.
Yes. We are based in Wichita, Kansas, and every engagement runs remotely, in English or Spanish. On-site visits are possible when the work requires them.
After a short scoping conversation we send a written scope with a fixed quote. We price per project or as a monthly engagement, not by the hour.
Yes. We can sign one before discovery, and every engagement runs under a contract.
We will tell you, and when possible we will point you to someone better suited.
Any task inside software, AI or security: development, automation, security, training, strategy, research support and long horizon operations. Our published catalogue is a sample, not a limit. Custom requests are the default. If a request falls outside the three practices, we say so and point you to someone better suited.
